Renaissance Orbs-la-Dee

I wanted to try and use strong shading on this Renaissance tile.  I used two color brown Micron pens with two brown and one white Pitt soft pastel pencils for the shading.  I like the diamond orientation better, now that it is finished.

Diva Weekly Challenge #300 - Moebius Syndrome Awareness

The Diva's challenge is to tangle the Moebius Syndrome Foundation's logo.  I went to the website to read about Moebius Syndrome.  If you haven't heard of this syndrome or don't know much about it, check out the website.  www.moebiussyndrome.org.

The Moebius Syndrome logo in my tile uses the tangle charlie by Erin Koetz Olson.

Tangled Box 1

I was given a gift of Christmas themed clothespins that came in this plain wooden box.  I decorated it with colorful tangles to use for collecting scraps of paper that populate my drawing table.  Alternatively, my husband noted that it is the perfect size to hold Zentangle tiles.

Diva Weekly Challenge #299 - Drawings

I struggled with Drawings the first few times I tried it.  It doesn't come naturally to me, so not sure how I will incorporate in future tiles, but time will tell.

Tangle Sampler

I started this tile over the summer and decided to make it into a tangle sampler of some of my favorite tangles.  It was relaxing to do since the parameters were fixed.

Square One: Purely Zentangle Weekly ONE - Stella and Paushalov

Catching up on my posts.

Stella was the Purely Zentangle Weekly ONE in December.  Here are two tiles featuring this tangle.  I love working with Stella.  It is a great central focus tangle and fun to draw.

Paushalov was the Weekly ONE in the beginning of January.  I am still trying to figure out how to work with it.

Diva Weekly Challenge #298 - Orbs-la-Dee

The Diva's weekly challenge #298 was Orbs-la-Dee by Anneke van Dam.  I used an "s" shaped string and started with another orientation and then as I worked I kept turning the tile and it ended up rotated clockwise 90 degrees from where I started.  I focused on very precise strokes, particularly on my orbs so that there wouldn't be any stray lines inside the orbs.  It gives it a clean look, but it was very time consuming!  Other tangles used:  Pinwheels, Printemps, Shattuck, Jonqual, Huggins, Dyon and Goldilocks.
